An exciting new opportunity has arisen to work as part of a team for a newly established company in Guernsey .The company is at the leading edge of building and commercializing deep generative models of large-scale, real world multi-modal medical data. Their aim is to progress medical and associated pharmaceuticals to the world markets in optimized time-scales. As a part of the building process for their Guernsey operations we are looking for an exceptional individual to take on the role of senior infrastructure automation engineer.
The role will play a pivotal part in the company’s drive to build and be the market ground-breaker in using AI research at the cutting edge of machine learning in providing life-saving healthcare solutions.
This is unique role and not typical to the majority of IT support roles. The successful candidate will be working with a technically sophisticated data base shared with data scientists, ML engineers and developers who demand and expect reliable , secure and innovative infrastructure solutions. Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure automation using Terraform, ensuring all infrastructure changes are code-reviewed, versioned, and reproducible. Develop robust PowerShell and Python automation frameworks to eliminate manual operations and enable self-service capabilities . Manage Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and associated integrations Administer their Mac-based laptop environment and mobile device management, ensuring security policies and productivity tools are properly deployed . Oversee corporate phones and mobile applications, ensuring seamless communication capabilities .
The role-holder will work closely with data science and engineering teams to understand requirements and deliver infrastructure that accelerates their work . Design monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions that provide deep system insights user enablement and support.
Solid understanding of Office 365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams) and Slack workspace management experience with MDM (Mobile Device Management) solutions for laptops and mobile devices will be essential.
This role will be based in the company’s new administrative base in Guernsey with daily interaction with colleagues, mostly in the UK at present but aiming to be a global operator in the near future.
