Our client, a leading MEP contracting company is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer for a major infrastructure project in Cyprus, with an initial duration of 24 months and potential for extension. The successful candidate will join a dynamic, multicultural project team responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical systems, including HVAC distribution networks, fire protection, and plumbing systems. This is a site-based role offering exposure to large-scale, technically complex projects while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance with European regulations.
In this position, the Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design and specification of HVAC systems in line with project requirements, as well as the development of fire protection and life safety systems compliant with aviation and European standards. The role also involves creating detailed plumbing and drainage designs for terminal facilities. Beyond design responsibilities, the candidate will collaborate closely with clients, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems within the overall project. Will oversee installation, testing, and commissioning phases, ensuring that all mechanical systems are delivered efficiently and to specification.
A key aspect of the role is ensuring quality assurance and regulatory compliance. The engineer will be expected to adhere to European mechanical codes and local Cyprus regulations, perform system inspections and technical reviews, and maintain comprehensive project documentation. Additionally, the role requires providing technical support during installation and commissioning, resolving on-site issues, optimizing system performance, and coordinating closely with contractors through regular site inspections.
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and has a minimum of six years of relevant professional experience, particularly in HVAC system design and implementation. Experience in large-scale infrastructure or construction projects is highly advantageous. Strong technical proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP is required, along with a solid understanding of European mechanical standards.
The role demands strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills in English, and the capacity to work effectively in a multicultural team environment. Greek language skills are considered an advantage but are not mandatory. This opportunity offers a competitive international working environment, with accommodation support available if required, and the chance to contribute to a high-profile infrastructure project in Cyprus.
