Our client is looking for a Fibre Optic Network Engineer based in Guernsey, on a fixed term contract basis.
The successful candidate will be maintaining the network and the fibre technology behind many business services. You will be carrying out installation, interception and fusion splicing of fibre optic cables on both new, live and point to point Fibre networks. The termination and installation of cables at distribution points, fibre nodes, connectorized block terminals (CBTs) and optical mainframes to the agreed specifications. Building new splice points using various underground joint closures and optical distribution frames.
Applicants wil have previous experience of installation and termination of cables testing, fibre services using specialised fibre test equipment. As well as providing 2nd Line support to the installation team you will have excellent fibre troubleshooting and diagnostics skills and excellent Customer Service skills. A current category B driving licence is required. You must have good attention to detail and ability to produce accurate and high quality work.
