IT, telecommunications and electronics specialist recruiter AP Technical has expanded its horizons and is now placing candidates in roles all over the world. The company, a division of AP Group, has grown steadily since it was created in 2006. IT consultant Shubha Puthran said the decision to extend its field of operations was a logical one, particularly in the current economic climate.
’If there is one industry that is not restricted by international boundaries, it is this one,’ he said. ’We have always been involved with talented people who have gained experience in other parts of the world, and we are now actively seeking them. If, for instance, prospects are not looking good in the UK or wherever they are currently working, we can find them opportunities further afield.’
Shubha, who has been with AP Group since 2013 and has been successfully placing candidates in this specialised field for more than five years, previously worked in electronics manufacturing and believes it is vitally important that recruitment consultants do have a relevant background, particularly in such a specialised field.
’We’re dealing with vacancies in areas that are full of jargon and job descriptions that many people outside the industry wouldn’t even understand,’ he explains. ’If you’re going to provide a company with the right candidates, you have to have a good grasp of the industry and the terminology.’
