Senior Web Designer / Head of Digital Design - Guernsey
A leading commercial business with a global presence requires an experienced senior web designer and/or head of digital design to join their local creative team. The role reports directly to the creative director and will require the successful applicant to take responsibility for web design, undertaking original design as briefed. Specific responsibilities will include:
~ Taking briefs as directed by creative director
~ Understanding the brief, assisting other members of the team to understand the brief, and obtaining all necessary information and clarification from the client
~ Designing web pages with a focus on accessibility and high-quality user experience
~ Meeting the written brief accurately and within the specified deadline
~ Working with art directors and writers to develop creative concepts as required
~ Developing concepts in Flash through to the published format, keeping within the file restrictions and meeting the campaign deadline
~ Overseeing the build through to live CSS
~ Keeping up to date with the latest web technologies and demonstrating technical knowledge of what is possible
~ Sharing knowledge and working effectively as a member of the web team
~ Ensuring that traffic is kept informed of progress and development of work
The role of head of digital would require the successful applicant to oversee the web team in producing materials as above while managing the day-to-day operation of the team. Specific duties would include:
~ Assisting the traffic manager and the creative director in allocating jobs
~ Monitoring the briefing and progress of work on a day-to-day basis
~ Assisting web designers in the development of work as necessary, and keeping relevant parties informed of any delays, problems or issues that arise
~ Ensuring that the creative director signs off all online work as required
